Amenities and Facilities

Amenities and Facilities

Our hospital offers a number of amenities and facilities for our patients and visitors to help make your stay or visit more comfortable.

Enquiries desk

There are two enquiries desks located at:

  • South Block (Victoria Square entrance)
  • North Block

Entertainment

A bedside radio service is available in most wards. Most wards also have television monitors above each bed. The television service is available on a daily or weekly rental basis. This service is run by an external company and is not managed by us. Hire can be arranged through the Hospital Television Rentals representative who visits the wards regularly during the day. At our Wellington Street campus there are also rental vending machines on most wards which accept cash or credit cards. For safety reasons, the use of private TV sets is not permitted.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is now available at Royal Perth Hospital. Visit the Wi-Fi page for more information.

Telephones

Bedside telephones are available so patients can receive incoming telephone calls at no cost. The telephone service is provided by an external company and is not managed by us. If you would like to use the telephone for outgoing calls, you will need to purchase a pre-paid patient phone card from the Hospital Television Rentals representative who visits the wards daily. At our Wellington Street campus you can also use your credit card to put credit on the phone using the handpiece.

Vending machines

Drinks and snacks can be accessed 24-hours a day from vending machines on the Wellington Street overpass and at other locations around the hospital.

Location: Level 3, near the Victoria Square entrance

Operating hours:
Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday – 10am to 3pm
Public Holidays – 10am to 3pm

Newsagency

Location: Level 3, near the cafeteria
Phone: 9224 2933

Operating hours:
7am to 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
7:30am to 5pm (Saturday)

Victoria's (food and snacks)

Location: Level 3, Wellington Street pedestrian overpass

Operating hours: 6.30am to 7.30pm

24 hour ATM

Location: Level 3, Wellington Street pedestrian overpass

Internet access

Internet access is available in Victoria's Cafeteria.
